Years ago, I experienced microscope envy at a friend’s house, and I just couldn’t shake it…Luckily, I was able to get my fix after Amazon’s mindreading software suggested this incredibly cheap digital microscope.
For the money, it has to be one of the coolest pieces of technology I’ve purchased. You just plug the USB cable into your computer, open a camera program (i.e. Camera on Windows, Photobooth on Mac), and switch the input to the microscope (if it doesn’t do it automatically). Then, it just…works…
Some of the pictures below were taken using prepared slides, but most of time, we just look at whatever we can find; dead bugs, clothing, the pores on our fingers, mechanical watches, whatever…
