I love the expression, “the devil is beating his wife.” It is local to parts of Georgia and Alabama, and basically means that it is raining while the sun is shining.
Right now, camped overnight in Presho, South Dakota, the devil is definitely slapping his lady around. Just when you think they have worked out their issues, she brings him a beer without opening it first, and they are at it again.
